WHO IS GUN CONTROL FOR...

As a United States Citizen, I do not agree with the current narrative surrounding the topic of gun control, this county was founded on violence, was founded on the guiding principles associated with the freedom to defend oneself if the need arises, and the duty of the people to maintain a certain level of power to govern the government if it fails to uphold what it was designed for…

As a Law Enforcement Official, I will enforce the law whatever it may be, and protect those that I swore to from all threats whether foreign or domestic. As I’ve said in the past, I am my brother/sister’s keeper and will not sit by and simply allow something terrible to occur…

Both positions being said, guns don’t kill people…people kill people. A firearm is a tool designed to be wielded by a person…to aid that person in whatever it is being utilized for. The firearm cannot act on its own interest, it will never make a decision, it will never knowingly influence another to do violence, however it will always do what it is designed to do.

I’ve dealt with numerous people that were armed legally and illegally…the legally armed individuals never gave me any issues and never was a treat. Even when I was at the scene to potentially seize firearms…I’ve never had any issues. I have had issues with those that were armed illegally to various degrees, but those people 9 times out of 10 didn’t obtain their firearms legally.

Currently in majority of states that allow for the ownership and/or possession of a firearm require specific requirements are met and/or maintained in order to be legally allowed to have a firearm. Some states allow for concealed carrying of firearms, some stated allow open carrying of firearms, some states restrict ownership of a firearm to only those that are deemed to require a firearm, some states don’t allow firearm ownership whatsoever… the point is that this system is fast and loose because it is a subject that can be determined or dictated by each individual state. Nevertheless, there has always been some sort of requirements associated gun ownership.

The 2nd amendment right to bear arms clause wasn’t necessarily designed for everyone to have weapons, however it was designed to give everyone the right to have weapons if eligible to do so. This was put in to prevent governments from getting too powerful, to allow for a way from the governed to legally raise up and take back the government.

This is a discussion that can be argued forever, and currently is…but my point is that there are legal requirements to own a firearm, there are things in place to prevent those that aren’t supposed to have firearms from obtaining them legally. Criminals or those that intend to do harm with firearms don’t follow the rules, don’t obtain firearms legally majority of the times, and lastly don’t care about the law.

I’ll end it here with a question…if criminals or those that intend to do harm obtain weapons illegally, who are these limitations for exactly…
